Turkish Airlines 'The Selfie Shootout'

Aaaaand annother good ad from the Turkish Airlines! Good brand exposure and the fact they're using current trends - everyone knows what selfies stand for! So nice, funny, cute and memorable!

More Messi, more Kobe—this time Turkish Airlines (which has pitted the two athletes against each other before) holds the most epic selfie contest ever, with with much flying back and forth and even face-licking of CGI lions.

Audrey Hepburn and the Galaxy chocolate

Well, this is simply incredible.  Galaxy Chocolate, a Mars Chocolate brand, teamed up with production company Framestore and ad agency AMV BBDO to recreate Audrey Hepburn and cast her in their newest commercial, entitled “Choose Silk Chauffeur.

As wondrous as this ad may be, ethical questions are sure to arise.  As The Independent mentions, “who owns dead people?” The personal brands are obviously still available for usage, but the public opinion can definitely sway one way or the other. On the one hand, commercials such as these can be described as tributes to great characters of our time, as long as they are portrayed positively. Contrarily, viewers may also be inclined to disagree with the employment of those who are no longer with us and whose families suffer from such losses.

To get viral or not to get viral

I guess this video had a potential to go viral, however, remains kind of unseen by many people..

‘Fair Go Bro'

Having a famous brother can sometimes be an advantage, but it is not necessarily the case. As a part of a new brand campaign called ‘Fair Go Bro’, created by Euro RSCG and One Green Bean, Virgin Mobile Australia has made an rather unusual move by promoting Doug Pitt, the brother of famous Hollywood actor Brad Pitt, as an actual celebrity.

Set to last until October, the campaign will have three phases, the main pillar of it being a website which has a simple premise – to get Facebook ‘likes’ from consumers, enabling Doug to become more famous. The first step in doing so is a new MTV Cribs-styled video called ‘Meet Doug Pitt, the second most famous Pitt in his family’:

P&G and the Olympics - part 2

Procter & Gamble, the official sponsor of the Olympic Games, launched a “thank you mom” campaign at the beginning of March, just around Mother’s Day in the UK, rewarding fans who submitted videos with thank you messages to their moms with family tickets to the Olympics.

Now, when Father’s Day is closing in, Gillette, a subsidiary company of  Procter & Gamble, decided to do something similar to honor all the fathers out there. A 30-second TV spot was created featuring Gillette’s brand ambassadors Roger Federer, Tyson Gay and Ryan Lochte.

The TV campaign was launched in the UK on June 11, during the ‘England vs France’ Euro 2012 soccer match. Gillette took the campaign online as well, inviting people to join the company in celebrating dads on Twitter, via a hashtag #herestodad, while a Facebook campaign featuring giveaways and online competitions is starting on June 17.

Take a look at the Father’s Day TV spot, and tell us what you think of it in the comment area below:

Dutch Celebrities Invite People across the Globe to Be Their Guests on KLM Flights

Another awesome work from KLM!

The airline company KLM Royal Dutch Airlines is promoting its services on the international market with a recently launched initiative under a friendly ‘Be My Guest’ tagline. The new campaign, developed by Tribal DDB and DDB Amsterdam, uses an undying trend, which has been used in recent marketing efforts by Burger King and adidas to name but a few—it features famous people from various industries. Since KLM is a Dutch company, the new promotional activity features six celebrities originating from the Netherlands—DJ Armin van Buuren, fashion supermodel Yfke Sturm, football legend Ruud Gullit, Hollywood actor Jeroen Krabbé, astronaut Wubbo Ockels, and designer Hella Jongerius, who can ‘be reached’ by the airline guests in the virtual chat.

David Beckham plays Beethoven’s “Ode to Joy” or David Beckham brand advertising

David Beckham plays Beethoven’s “Ode to Joy” in this new video from Cheil USA for Samsung Galaxy.

As I have already said earlier some brand companies do like to use celebrities, especially athletes, to promote their brand and increase brand identity? Well... and now just consider for a second a brand of David Beckham. He appears in many different commercials, and obviously, most of the money he makes is already not from the football. But the brand of Beckham is getting tired and overused - he advertised Pepsi, Adidas, Burger King, Vodafone Japan, fashion, Gillette and now what - a 'brand ambassador' for technology ads as well? At some point there should be a moment to stop. Can you use any other athlete, please?

Oh and btw you can see some of the ads with David Beckham in this post below. Enjoy!

Nike 'My Time Is Now' for Euro 2012

Nike had a huge advertising success at the 2010 World Cup with "Write the Future," the epic soccer spot that won the 2011 Film Grand Prix at Cannes for Wieden + Kennedy Amsterdam. (It didn't work out so well for the players in the spot, though, many of whom failed notably at the tournament—fueling fears of a "Write the Future" curse.) Now, Wieden + Kennedy London takes over for Amsterdam with a sequel of sorts called "My Time Is Now," which is, in its own way, just as epic as the original.

Nike simply can't do a mediocre soccer commercial. Here, it's made another instant classic. Let's just hope it doesn't put a hex on the players this time.

Nike Football - Nadal and Ronaldo

Soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo and tennis champ Rafael Nadal smile at a monitor during a shoot for their latest Nike commercial for the Mercurial Vapor VIII shoes.

The sports studs battled it out on a tennis court, playing their respective sports against each other. Check out some of the awesome moves that Cristiano did!

It is an interesting way to attract attention of the right target audience. I am in love with tennis, so obviously if something like this is released I will check it  and actually yes, I will be attracted to such products, especially if famous sport stars like these advertise them! It works really well, attracts attention, makes the video viral within days and makes a good promotion to a new product!
It is not the first Nike's attempt in creating such videos.
