Ryanair Advertising Strategy 2014

Since my previous article about Ryanair, it's gone even further with it's marketing strategy.

First of all, I must say that the website has maassiiively improved -it's so much easier now to search for flights. Oh wait, not only search - but also buy tickets! So so so much easier. Secondly, their improved their customer services and customisation/personalisation to customers - I constantly receive emailes from them which are....relevant.So well done! And thirdly, obviously... it's the free 2nd bag on board :)

But here we go. 20 years they have been  relying on its own in-house resource to create ads that have frequently fallen foul of the Advertising Standards Authority. This is the time when Ryanair has actually appointed some advertising and media agencies to come up with ads - which are good. Check it out!

The campaign, called "Low fares. Made simple", is designed to change negative perceptions of Ryanair and showcase the carrier’s improved services, such as allocated seating.

Ryanair & it's New Digital Strategy - 2013

This autumn Ryanair issued its first profit warning in nearly 10 years at the start of the month as the number of people booking flights for the autumn fell. Ryanair also came bottom in Which?’s customer service survey, performing the worst out of the UK’s 100 biggest brands. It scored just 54 per cent, well below the two next worst performers, TalkTalk and NPower, both of which scored 59 per cent.

This is the story how Ryanair did not have any marketing strategy and how in the autumn of 2013 they re-considered their business objectives and switched to imprive their digital presence.
