P&G and the Olympics - part 2

Procter & Gamble, the official sponsor of the Olympic Games, launched a “thank you mom” campaign at the beginning of March, just around Mother’s Day in the UK, rewarding fans who submitted videos with thank you messages to their moms with family tickets to the Olympics.

Now, when Father’s Day is closing in, Gillette, a subsidiary company of  Procter & Gamble, decided to do something similar to honor all the fathers out there. A 30-second TV spot was created featuring Gillette’s brand ambassadors Roger Federer, Tyson Gay and Ryan Lochte.

The TV campaign was launched in the UK on June 11, during the ‘England vs France’ Euro 2012 soccer match. Gillette took the campaign online as well, inviting people to join the company in celebrating dads on Twitter, via a hashtag #herestodad, while a Facebook campaign featuring giveaways and online competitions is starting on June 17.
